79,878 vehicles were imported from the United States into Canada through the RIV program in the first half of 2011.  More than 900,000 vehicles have been imported by and for Canadians through the RIV program since 2006. 
There are still vehicles going southbound too.  17,991 vehicles were imported into the United States from Canada by Registered Importers in 2010, up 67 per cent from the year before.  There has been an additional 19 per cent increase this year so far.  Registered Importers brought in 10,597 vehicles from Canada in the first half of 2011.
