139,762 vehicles were imported through the Registrar of Imported Vehicles program from the United States into Canada in 2011. The volume of imports was down slightly from the year before. 158,603 vehicles were imported through the RIV program in 2010. The highest one year import volume was recorded in 2008 when 239,929 vehicles were imported.
